experience

Check out some of my past projects! I love being able to create with people in their area of expertise. It’s my favorite form of storytelling because each story can be told in several different ways with several different lasting impressions. And what can I say? I’m a sucker for a good story.

A Whole New World - Salt Lake City, Utah

I was able to join the Working with Lemons cast in their modern day adaptation of Aladdin’s “A Whole New World” with a synth-pop feel (composed by OBA). Set in the beautiful Salt Lake City, casual city-boy Aladdin takes the polished and classy Jasmine on a date full of street tacos, motor scooters, and big city sunsets. I loved being a part of this project, and I love how the music video turned out! For more cute moments like the one in the picture, click here.

Or, if you want to hear me cackle shamelessly, you can find the behind the scenes here. Both links will lead you to some quality entertainment.

Cabaret (musical) - John kander, fred ebb, Joe masteroff

Based off the short novel Goodbye to Berlin by Christopher Isherwood (1939), the musical follows a group of people living in Berlin during the rise of Nazi power. It briefly explores the burlesque world illustrating how easy it is to turn a blind eye to any issue that may not directly affect you until it’s too late. The director of my show wanted to play with the theme “how far will you go to avoid being uncomfortable?” really encapsulating the message of the show. It shows the audience how inaction may be just as damaging as negative action, and teaches the message to care about the things going on in the world around them, no matter how distant.

prohibition and speakeasies

From 1920-1933, a constitutional ban on alcohol shook the United States raising rebellion and governmental havoc. We know it as the Prohibition.  During that time, illicit bars began to pop up to sell said contraband and provide individuals a place to consume it in company.  It was an aesthetically tortured, dangerous, and alluring moment in history (to theatrically summarize) and the photographer really wanted to capture that beauty in his tableaux.

Besides, what isn’t sexy about moody flappers rebelling against a controlling government?

Sweet disaster by hannah kaye

all my secrets have been splattered on the walls / no place to hide behind, my shadow’s standing two feet tall / I’ve survived thus far / praise these battle scars

no more trying, no more lies / my effort’s wasted fighting relevance to certify / this is not my fight / I cannot shrink myself to better suit your appetite

I’m a sweet disaster / medicated, exhilarated / dramatic, under-appreciated / a beautiful catastrophe / I’m a hot mess but that’s okay / cause I wouldn’t wanna change me anyway

cause I’ve / stuck it out through all these years, sweetheart / I am stronger than I appear / your words / may stroke your pride / but you’re the one who’s left unsatisfied

I’m a sweet disaster / domesticated, exonerated / pragmatic, chocolate-habituated / a beautiful catastrophe / I’m a handful but that’s okay / cause I wouldn’t wanna change me anyway
